HOW TO PRAY & GROW IN CHRIST
THE LORD'S PRAYER

The Lord is my Shepherd
That's Relationship!

I shall not want
That's Supply!

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures
That's Rest!

He leadeth me beside the still waters
That's Refreshment!

He restoreth my soul
That's Healing!

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
That's Guidance!

For His name's sake
That's Purpose!

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death      That's Testing!

I will fear no evil
That's Protection!

For Thou art with me
That's Faithfulness!

Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me
That's Discipline!

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies
That's Hope!

Thou annointest my head with oil
That's Consecration!

My cup runneth over
That's Abundance!

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life
That's Blessings!

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord
That's Security!

Forever
That's Eternity!

Face it, the Lord is crazy about you.

What is most valuable, is not what we have in our lives,
but WHO we have in our lives!
PRAYER

Prayer is the most blessed gift God gave His people second only to Salvation. Prayer is very easy and always productive.

Without faith it is impossible to pray "unless it is the sinners prayer". So if you don't have faith don't waste God's time and yours with prayer. God will hear you but don't expect Him to answer.

Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.

When you pray, talk to God as you would your best friend, you need not use Thee's and Thou's. Just open your heart and use plain talk. Ask His guidance in all things,Tell Him your needs and always ask His will be done, address Him as Father, Lord, Jehovah or God. Remembering our God is A LIVING GOD, not a jade, clay or ceramic statue on a shelve or wall...PoP

1 Kings 8:44-48

If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever thou shalt send them, and shall pray unto the LORD toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I have built for thy name:

Then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;

Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;

And so return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:

Mark 11:24
Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Luke 18:1
And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint

Luke 21:36
Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

1 Thessalonians 5:17-18
Pray without ceasing.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

1 Timothy 2:8
I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

James 5:15-16
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
WHEN I SAY I AM A CHRISTIAN

I'm not claiming to be perfect.
My flaws are all too visible,
But God believes I'm worth it.

When I say, "I am a Christian,
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches,
Which is why I speak His name.

When I say, "I am a Christian,
I do not wish to judge.
I have no authority;
I only know I'm loved.

When I say, "I am a Christian,
I'm not shouting, "I am saved!
I'm whispering, "I get lost;
That is why I chose this way.

When I say, "I am a Christian,
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
And need Someone to be my Guide.

When I say, "I am a Christian,
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak,
And pray for strength to carry on.

When I say, "I am a Christian,
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
And cannot ever pay the debt.

Just A Closer Walk With Thee
I am weak, but Thou are strong; JESUS, keep me from all wrong;
I'll be satisfied as long, As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.
HOW TO GROW AS A CHRISTIAN
Life After Your New Birth. The Below, Will Feed The Soul And Help it Grow.

Daily Prayer
If we are to be about the Father's business, we must be in constant communication with Him.  This is what prayer is all about.  During prayer we tell God of our hurts, our worries, our concerns, as well as our joys and thrills (Philippians 4:6).  We hold nothing back and ask for His guidance, care and protection (Matthew 6:10,13).  We confess our faults and seek His forgiveness (Matthew 6:12).  Sometimes we just sit in silence and meditate upon God and His word (Habbakuk 2:20).

Daily prayer was the habit of Jesus (Luke 6:12; Mark 1:35).

Bible Reading/Memorization
We need to know the word of God to know His heart.  The daily practice of reading the bible, and memorizing its contents is essential to spiritual growth (2 Timothy 3:14-17; Psalm 119:9-11)

As you regularly read the Bible and pray, you will grow in faith in two ways. First, you will learn what God promises. He makes promises you can claim. Second, the inspiring stories of the Bible will reassure you and help strengthen your faith.

Speaking of the Holy Scriptures, Paul said, "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope" (Romans 15:4, NIV). As our hope increases, our faith increases. The two are intertwined.

Church Attendance/Participation
It is important to not try to be a loner in our Christian walk.  God's plan is for us to live in community with other Christians (1 Corinthians 12:12-14).  But that does not just mean we attend services once a week or so and then forget about it!  God intends for us to be busy serving Him (1 Peter 2:5, 9-10).  We should all be active in our local church.  If you don't have one, then you need to find one.

Be Baptised
(Baptism is a testimony to others of what God has done in your heart. It is a picture of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.) Our prayer for you here at the Salvation Pages is that you will find a place to belong and grow.

Proper Living
Our walk must mirror our talk.  If we speak about Christ, but act like a devil, what does that say to those who do not know our Lord?  We must live like people who have been bought with the blood of Jesus (Colossians 3:1-17).

Telling Others
This terrifies most people, but it shouldn't.  It will become second nature to those who are practicing the things mentioned previously.  We would not dare to hold back information that could save someone's life, so why should we hold back information that will save their soul?  Tell other people about what Jesus has done for you.  If you can't answer all their questions, that is OK.  Take them to someone that you know who can answer them, such as a minister or godly friend. (Matthew 28:18-20).

Dear Lord, help us to grow in our Christian faith so that we may be children of whom you can be proud.   Amen
